What are the new products from Kress Robotic Mowers in 2023?
Kress is rolling out (pun only partially intended) four new robotic mowers this year. Really, the difference between them is how large and complicated of a lawn they are designed to maintain. You can purchase a model built for lawns that are 3/4 of an acre all the way up to 4 1/2 acres. In other words, Kress Robotic Mowers are great for a small lawn all the way up to a park or a giant sports field.
No matter what model you end up with, though, you can rest assured that you are getting the same heavy-duty performance. And of course, all models include the incredible technology that has made Kress Robotic Mowers the premium brand in robotic mowing.
How does a 2023 Kress Robotic Mower measure the boundaries of a lawn?
Speaking of that impressive technology, measuring boundaries is simple with a Kress Robotic Mower. You no longer need boundary wire installed. Instead, you simply remove the RTK antenna that is typically on the robotic lawn mowers. Place it on the mapping cart and walk around the boundary of your lawn. At that point, the RTK antenna has mapped out your property. Place the antenna back on the robotic mower, and the mower will know precisely where to go.
What is RTK technology?
RTK stands for real-time kinematic technology. This impressive little machine is always communicating with an antenna and a satellite. So the robot knows exactly where it is at all times. We’re talking accuracy within 2 or 3 centimeters, which is downright amazing.
But at the risk of sounding like an infomercial…that’s not all! RTK technology also allows you to point out where the autonomous mower doesn’t need to mow, such as a driveway. It also helps the robot mow your lawn with perfectly straight lines, in an efficient pattern. And unlike humans, the robot never gets tired of running through this route. As a result, robotic lawn care leads to healthier, more well-maintained grass.
What is the cut height on a 2023 Kress Robotic Mower?
As you can imagine, Kress Robotic Mowers are just as versatile in their cut heights as all their other features. All models can go as low as 1 1/2 inches to as high as 3 1/2 inches. And what’s even more incredible is that they will adjust automatically if you want them to. Kress Robotic Mowers communicate with local weather stations to understand exactly what your lawn needs to stay healthy.

Hey Randy! Thanks for the question. We may not be able to check every box you outlined, but we have some models that could get close.
The Husqvarna Automower 550H EPOS (or 450XH EPOS)is probably the closest. It is wireless, but the max cut height is 3.6″. It can easily handle 3/4 of an acre (Up to 2.5 with Pattern cutting). And to answer your question about changing the mow angle, it can be little complicated, but yes is the short answer. The EPOS technology currently has 3 different cutting patterns; Parallel, Triangle, and Checkerboard. For the Triangle & Checkerboard, it will mow one direction during one session and another during the next sessions. For parallel, you can remap your lawn and set them as “different” zones then modify the cutting pattern. I hope that helps answer your question. Are there any other mowers with the RTK antenna built in? Hate the idea of having a separate antenna somewhere out in my yard.

Hey Chris, thanks for the question. There are not currently any models in the market at this point that have on-board RTK receivers. That being said, the external receivers can be mounted out of the way (with a clear view of the sky and installation) and would likely draw little attention to themselves. Alternatively, there are non-RTK based solutions on the horizon that may address your request. I hope that helped. Thanks

Hey Brian, thanks for the question. If I am understanding your question correctly, yes. You would create “stay-out” zones for objects within your installation that you do not want the mower to enter or collide with. This both helps reduce collisions on the product and increases the mowing efficiency. Thanks again for the comment!
